Plot
The film begins with a car chase in Chicago, where a man named Daniyal Khan (Saif Ali Khan) is being pursued by the FBI. He manages to escape and meets with his handler Nawaz Mistry (Sabyasachi Chakraborty), who works for India's Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). Nawaz informs Daniyal that he has been chosen for a covert operation to assassinate the perpetrators of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, who are hiding in various countries. Daniyal agrees to take up the mission and travels to different locations to execute his targets.
In London, Daniyal kills Hariz Saeed, the son of Hafiz Saeed, the leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), by planting a bomb in his car. In Beirut, he infiltrates a refugee camp and shoots Abu Usman, the head of Indian Mujahideen (IM). In Syria, he bombs a meeting of ISI officials who were involved in training and funding the terrorists. In Chicago, he tracks down David Coleman Headley, the American-Pakistani operative who conducted reconnaissance for the attacks, and injects him with a lethal dose of drugs.
Along the way, Daniyal is assisted by Nawaz and an ex-RAW agent named Nirupama Verma (Katrina Kaif), who poses as his wife. Nirupama is initially reluctant to join the mission, but gradually develops feelings for Daniyal. She also helps him uncover the identity of the fifth and final target, Sajid Mir, the LeT commander who masterminded the attacks.
Daniyal and Nirupama travel to Pakistan, where they locate Sajid Mir at a hospital in Murree. Daniyal disguises himself as a doctor and enters the hospital, while Nirupama waits outside. Daniyal confronts Sajid Mir and shoots him dead, but is surrounded by Pakistani security forces. He calls Nawaz and tells him that he has completed his mission. Nawaz congratulates him and tells him that he is proud of him. Daniyal then detonates a grenade, killing himself and the security personnel.
The film ends with Nawaz addressing a press conference in India, where he reveals the details of the operation and names Daniyal as a national hero. He also exposes the role of Pakistan in supporting terrorism and demands justice for the victims of the Mumbai attacks.
